President Abraham Lincoln was a very good wrestler as a youth and his wrestling exploits were used during his presidential campaign in 1860. He is enshrined in the Wrestling Hall of Fame, having lost just once in 300 matches. The reason for this is surprising yet completely logical: Lincoln was very high for his time. In the 19th century, people were much smaller than we are now, and Lincoln’s height of 6-foot 4-inches produced the same effect as 6-foot-10 would now.
